Sarah & Marci met developing a kids yoga camp one summer. Little did they know that there was a higher purpose than to just collaborate ideas for some fun filled weeks of yoga camp. After successfully working together, and a new blossoming friendship, Sarah knew she had found a special bond with her fellow yogi. She shared her passion of years of paddleboarding out on the lagoon & the healing effects that take place out on the water. Marci was immediately drawn to the idea of testing out her balance on a paddleboard. Together they paddled out, practiced headstands, and laughed together over the fun filled experiences they encountered out on the water. Bringing together Sarah's paddleboarding experience & Marci's yoga teaching experience, they knew they had found something unique. After many, many, sessions of SUP Yoga, Floating yogis floated into existence through two hearts sharing the same passions.
In a quest to create a Paddleboarding Yoga community, Floating Yogis was the first to bring SUP Yoga to San Diego, North County in August 2012. Since, the Floating Yogis community has blossomed, and Sarah & Marci relish in all the amazing people that they are privileged to meet!
Marci is a RYT 200 yoga instructor, who has been practicing yoga for 20 years. Her passion for the water & paddleboarding led her to SUP yoga. Through the years, Marci has studied many
different schools of yoga, including Iyengar, Hatha, Ashtanga and Anahata, and enjoys incorporating these different styles into every class. For Marci, the connection of
being on the water and doing yoga is as blissful as it gets.
She strives to bring that connection and peace to each of her classes. ** First Aid & CPR certified
Sarah first experienced the physical, emotional, & spiritual calming effects of paddleboarding 6 years ago out on the Agua Hadienda Lagoon, which she also refers to as her backyard. She feels so blessed to have discovered a preserved space of beauty that should never be taken for granted. Her quest for peace brought her to yoga, and ever since, she was hooked. Sarah currently teaches kids yoga and is completing her 200 hour certification at Yoga Tropics. She is passionate about creating a sense of community out on the water! In her free time she loves creative expression through writing & has done ghost writing for other successful yogis in the community.
