Floating Yogis was established in 2012 with the intention of sharing and spreading the love of Sup Yoga. Our business is built organically through locals and travelers alike. We have taken out thousands of people on the Agua Hadionda Lagoon to connect with nature & experience the healing, restoring benefits of Sup Yoga.
We look forward to paddling out to peace with you soon!
Peace, Love & Paddle,
Sarah Freeman & Marci Kawar
Co-owners and founders
Marci Kawar - co-owner
Marci has been practicing yoga since 1994. Her quest for inner peace mixed with the challenge of asana made her fall in love with yoga. In 2012 she was introduced to paddleboarding. After trying a few poses on the board, she quickly fell in love all over again, this time with SUP Yoga. With the unsteadiness of the board forcing her to be more present then ever, she traded in her teaching at studios and focused on the water. Teaching SUP Yoga has become a passion. She receives so much joy helping others and empowering them both physically and emotionally.
Sarah Freeman - co-owner
Sarah first found the emotional, spirtual & healing effects of stand up paddleboarding in 2006. She paddled through some of life's heaviest storms and its joyous moments on the Agua Hadionda Lagoon. It's a sacred space to always be cherished. Shortly after yoga found her, she couldn't pick between the two, so she combined them. She completed her 200 hour YTT at Yoga Tropics with the intention of creating a sense of community out on the water. Sarah aims to empower students and help them find a playful, balanced connection to the water.
Christy loves outdoor activities especially on the water. "What I love about sup yoga is everyday is a new experience out on the water. I want to share the experience of peace & paddle with others & that is why I teach".She found SUP Yoga the summer of 2013 with Floating Yogis and was hooked. Looking for the balance as a clinical nurse educator, she decided to delve into the 25 hour Sup Yoga Teacher training in April 2013.
Molly is a teacher by nature! Her love for the outdoors and water, drew her to try SUP Yoga. After her first class she was hooked! She completed her Teacher Training in 2015 and since has enjoyed taking students of all levels out, sharing her passion.
Sandra is cheerful, peaceful & uncommonly optimistic! Her journey into yoga was 10 years ago when she discovered how she could heal herself from a triathalon injury. Since, she has allowed yoga to help her both emotionally and physically. When she found SUP Yoga over a year ago, it was here that she found her happy place! Sandra loves helping others and hopes to bring you peace and joy out on the water soon!
